For upcoming social activities see “Social events“, the crow’s nest blog, and  relevant posts.

Overview

The club runs a number of social events over the year.  They are an opportunity for members, both new and old, to meet up with other members and enjoy a chat and exchange of views.

 Social Events

There are winter talks over the first few months of the year, from January to March, plus other social occasions following or associated with racing events.  Cruising in company and other similar occasions provide further opportunities for members to socialise.  Of course there is also the bar where stories and experiences can be exchanged.

The Club Bar

The bar is open on several days each week throughout the summer season and for limited hours during the winter.  It is a very welcome facility for most members most of the time, but its existence depends on sufficient use being made of it to avoid it running at a loss.  More members are encouraged to use it.

For clubhouse and bar hours, see the table at the bottom of this page.

If you don’t want to drive, we have good public transport links to many parts of Edinburgh.  We also have a direct line to a taxi company tougher with a £1 discount card on bookings (when quoted at time of booking).
